Selecting the right materials for any given job, having experience with various power/hand tools, and observing all safety measures within each project is a must. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated and dependable with the ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
The Day to Day
- Fit and Install all trim, doors, handrails and lock sets
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp project requirements
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed (cut, shape and smooth lumber according to measurements)
- Construct and install shelving, built-ins or other custom units where designated
- Inspect job sites and conduct repairs or maintenance as related to trim
- Interact with clients in face-to-face situations and solve problems with the support of the Project Manager
Skills You’ll Need
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials, and an excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Good understanding of basic math in all units of measure
- Efficient and effective problem solving skills, and ability to approach tasks with great attention to detail
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling
- Good written and verbal communication
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
What You’ll Bring
- At least 3 years of general and trim carpentry experience
- Experience in home remodeling and other skills such as drywall, mudding and painting are a plus
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Willing to learn the processes of our company
- References are a must
All qualified candidates are expected to possess a valid driver’s license; US work authorization; pass a background check; have reliable transportation; and speak, read, and understand English fluently.
